Hi, first time on freelancer, happy to try this out.
I'm part of a team designing a board game, where players play crime-cards to advance their characters. The cards are categorized into four groups; Violent, Racketeering, Narcotics, and Conspiracy. As a team, we are lacking professional artistic direction. We've prototype'd out all of the physical elements of the game (of which there are a lot), but its time to move the needle forwards on the quality of the physical assets.
For this specific job posting, I'd like to see 3 high resolution illustrations.
1. a large gangster character, clearly holding a firearm, in an intimidating fashion. The character should be in scummy city alley.
2. a shifty looking, smallish, gangster character, clearly holding a confidential package. The character should look like they're sneaking. The character should also be in a scummy city alley.
3. a back-side image for cards. This image would be printed on the back-face of each crime-card. The image should resemble an art-deco style.
The first two images are illustrations that live on the front-side of crime-cards. The art placement is very similar to how Magic The Gathering places their art. The third image is the backing image for all crime-cards.
The characters in the first two images should be wearing suits of some sort. That is pretty much the only restriction though. If you want to fit the style by making a Rhino tough guy, or a weasel shifty gangster, thats fine. But the clothing should be suits.
As for style, we are hoping the art embodies the words, "noir", "cartoonish", "deco". In our early prototypes, we've drawn heavy inspiration from the Animated Batman Series
