Invitation to tender for the building of a website for The Posh Opp Shoppe

The Posh Opp Shoppe is a charity opportunity shop that raises funds to support mentally impaired children within the Jewish community of Melbourne. The money raised sponsors integration aids for special needs kids in schools. We require a website which promotes the Posh Opp Shoppe’s up-market second hand goods, which you can’t find in other Opp Shops(second hand stores), particularly brand name clothes i.e Louis Feraud, Prada, Mimco etc. This needs to be clearly demonstrated in the website’s design.
The site we have in mind will ideally provide easy access to customers and answer any queries they may have about the business. A general representation of these products is required. I’m thinking of a page of featured products which we can easily update. The products may include furniture, clothing, toys, object d'art etc. A feature which offers a ‘deal of the week’ is also required. We will require the functionality to easily upload these products (with photographs and text) to the site ourselves, and then either take them down or declare them 'sold' once the product/s have been purchased. The site does not require an online shopping facility
From the charity side, we intend to run regular news stories about the work The Posh Opp Shoppe is doing in the community. The format of these stories will be consistent with news articles. We would like these to be archived on the site, but also to have the ability to remove them should it be necessary or desirable to do so.
Beyond this, the site will need to give information about the store's location, its history and mission statement, contact information, and a dedicated section to volunteering for the organization that explains the work our volunteers do and encourages more volunteers to join our team. Of course, for all of the above we will be providing the internal content ourselves.
It is very important that the site be user friendly for both front end users (customers) and back (employees/volunteers). The site should be easily navigable to those wishing to find out about The Posh Opp Shoppe, and easy to update/change content from our side as it will be uploaded by various members of our team. We would very much like the site to attract as many visitors as possible, so any advice/assistance/design you can provide that will make the site visually appealing and easily searchable will be major criteria in our selection of a designer.
