To Design and Build attractive [url removed, login to view] website to describe the property which is in one of the most important historical locations in Surrey. Called Hatchford End in Ockham, Surrey, England and the history of it and its 1000 year old village Ockham is to be displayed.

The property is located adjacent to the Thames Basin Heath Special Protection Area for native species within the 400 meter protection zone.

Built as a parsonage in 1752 it was expanded in 1860 then 1920 - the latter when the 3 Edgerton sisters moved in - daughters of the 3rd Earl of Ellesmere- history attached -who remained spinsters happily living on the property until their demise in the 1960's.

The property was used by the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire as a country retreat visiting the family.

The next British owners sold of a number of cottages nearby for staff reducing the estate to a manageable 8 acres just 20 miles from London, 20 minutes from Heathrow and 35 minutes from Gatwick which is now brilliantly located for the modern lifestyle but in the protected greenbelt

One more historic document to be loaded about the history of Ockham to come tomorrow with old maps [url removed, login to view] name is thought to originate from the ancient Oakham (hamlet of oak trees).

This is the historic village mentioned in the doomsday book where Occam's (also spelt Ockham) Razor was elucidated by Wiiliam of Occam.
