I currently have a business/hobby designing business cards, and basic print advertising for businesses, but lately I have been receiving requests for more complex projects such as logo design.
I've posted a similar project on GAF not long ago and worked with someone who helped create a logo which I thought was great, but my client has changed their mind on what they want, so I have had to go through this process again.
My client has asked me to design a logo/brand for their business, which sells t-shirts with funny phrases on them. Their business name is Paw Attitude (motto is Loyalty Barks), and all their phrases are to do with dogs.
They originally wanted a logo, which I quoted them to do, and did as they asked, but they have now changed their mind on the style they are going for, and I'm stuck on ideas! I also (stupidly) quoted them an exact price to design (which was a tiny amount as I thought it would be a small job), and as I also got some help from GAF on the last logo they wanted, and now I'm doing it again, it's going to actually start costing me to design this logo for them, so due to my stupidity, I can't afford to pay much. I'm really sorry!
I need someone to help me come up with a idea for this logo/brand. I am thinking along the lines of a couple of angry dog eyes or something above or next to the business name, but encorporating something like this may also work:

As I said - I'm completely stuck for ideas, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'll copy and paste some requirements that they have requested in regards to the logo, and I've also attached some shirt designs I have designed for their shirts which they are going to sell so you can see the style they like. Although the designs have been done up fairly dark, and they don't really like that - but the style is more what they are looking for than the colours.
Their requests for their logo/brand:
"You can use anything, be it a part of the dog or something that relates to dogs. As long as there is some association it will be more how the design is done than what we use."
"The range of people who will potentially wear this will be wide and probably skew to an older rather than younger demographic. I would envisage that late 20s up to early 40s would be the core range."
"I like very clean and relatively simple."
"I like the style of the [url removed, login to view] shirts. I dont want to be a copy of this product but the important element here is the style. I want these shirts to be fashionable such that you could wear them out to a classy pub."
"I would like to see a logo to represent the brand - one that would be recognised without the brand wording. Think nike, Timberland, La coste."
As I said, I'm completely stuck on ideas, and I can't afford to pay a lot, but any help on ideas and graphic design for this logo/brand would be greatly appreciated.
The shirts this business is selling are for both guys and girls, so the dog would have to be suitable to be printed on the pocket of either gender (for example, a lot of guys may not want to buy the shirts if they have a cartoon of a cute poodle on the pocket). The logo will also need to be seen on various colours, as the shirts may range from everything from black, to white, to pink etc.
Copyright for the logo would also have to be handed over to the business to do with what they want (print as many copies as needed etc), and your name will be put on the credits wherever applicable (I will let the client know exactly what I got your assistance with, and what work you did).
The client has also requested this logo be designed ASAP, so please also let me know how much time you will need so I can let them know.
I would love to see examples of what you can come up with for this logo (just a basic example is fine - just to see we're on the same page design-wise), and although seeing an example would help me choose a winning bid a lot more (as would a pm), if you choose not to, some examples of similar work you have already completed is fine too.
Thanks for bidding!
