I need a header designed for a new blog. I'm looking for a 960x150 size. The blog isn't up yet. It will basically be designed around the header, so there are no specific color palette yet.
The name of the site is Driving Chickens, which will be a blog to showcase social commentary pieces, using humor and wit.
So, what I have in mind for the header is a scene with several chickens (no specific number in mind) doing chicken things such as pecking, standing around staring, etc. A couple should be fluttering around, although I don't think that any should be flying straight out of the frame. Maybe acting as if there is a disturbance somewhere off to the left (or right) of the screen, like someone is trying to round up the chickens...though you don't see that person. The scene should be somewhat choatic, but not too busy.
The background does not need to be well-defined, but should have a hint of the pastoral (nothing distracting). There may or may not be a chicken coop off to the side, but there will probably have to be something somewhere to give composition. I am interested in either cartoon-type images or more realistic ones. If you are able to find actual photos, that is fabulous too.
This job obviously requires creativity and most probably a free hand artistic skill. The graphic should portray humor but needs to still look professional/adult (not sure if that is the right wording...but not child-like).
When applying I expect to at least be given samples of your work that would be in a similar style as what you would create for this job. However, ideally I would prefer a draft/mock up of what I ask for...you can watermark it or make is smaller, have it just be an outline and not fully complete, whatever you would like to protect your work.
Please let em know if you have any questions or would like clarity on something prior to placing a bid.
