We want a chrome extension like Honey - similar UI but instead of scraping the web for discount codes it would need to pull specific data from product listings from just a couple of websites.
Whilst the tool I'm looking to build has some similarities to Honey in terms of the user experience, the end product should actually differ quite a lot and I hope shouldn't be as complex to begin with as I essentially only need the extension to pull data in real-time from two websites.
What needs to happen:
1. User saves custom search to their profile in my browser extension
2. Extension then pulls the users search data from two websites and displays this to the user within the browser extension
3. Extension will need to identify specific fields from websites and map these to my custom fields (such as price, time listed and some product specs) in order to display information correctly
4. Extension should then retain this data to the users profile and the user can come back, view their previously saved products, organise these into different folders, add notes to products and also filter products through the extension using my custom search fields.
I'm not sure if this makes sense or not as I'm trying not to give too much away at this stage, however, based on above would you say this project would be more or less complext than Honey and take fewer or more hours to develop?
Addtionally what sort of security/privacy guarantee can you provide?
