Project Overview I have an existing Python / Flask application using Scrapfly for web scraping. The application provides three main API flows: Search destinations Search hotels for a selected destination. A separate working demo/proof of concept is available and successfully extracts the required data. Search hotels around geographic coordinates The current scraping integration stopped working due to upstream antibot and changes. The main goal is to restore the existing integration and make targeted improvements to session handling, provider architecture, configuration, testing, and documentation. This is an incremental fix and improvement project, not a full rewrite. Main Scope The project includes: Restore the three main scraping/API flows Fix request setup, headers, referrer, cookies, and session state where needed Improve session pooling, reuse, retries, expiration, cleanup, and persistence Improve provider abstraction / Inversion of Control Keep Scrapfly behind a clear provider interface Add configurable language and currency Default language: English Default currency: EUR Add meaningful unit and integration/end-to-end tests Improve relevant logging and technical documentation Existing behavior should be preserved unless a change is explicitly agreed. A detailed task breakdown with requirements and acceptance criteria will be provided. Development Approach Development will take place in an existing private GitHub repository. I will provide: Support with questions and clarifications Repository access The working demo/proof of concept A Scrapfly API key for development/testing Changes should be: Small and reviewable Clearly committed in Git Delivered through Pull Requests Incremental rather than large rewrites Major architectural changes should be discussed before implementation. AI-assisted development tools are allowed, but the developer is responsible for reviewing, understanding, and validating the final code. Expected Deliverables Working implementation of the agreed scope Source code delivered through the project repository Automated tests for important changed functionality Updated technical documentation No credentials or API keys A feature is considered delivered when the corresponding code is available in the repository and can be reviewed and tested. Proposal Please briefly mention: Your experience with Python / Flask and web scraping Experience with Scrapfly or similar scraping services Experience with sessions, cookies, retries, and persistence Whether you are comfortable working through small Pull Requests in an existing codebase All project communication, milestone approvals, and payments must remain on Freelancer.com.

Hi, there. "PYTHON FLASK SCRAPING INTEGRATION FIX" - you need the existing three scraping flows restored without a rewrite, while making sessions, retries, providers, and tests more reliable. I’d first compare the working proof of concept with the current Flask/Scrapfly integration, then make small PRs around request state, cookies, headers, session pooling, expiration, and retry handling. I’d keep Scrapfly behind a provider interface, preserve current API behavior, and add focused unit plus end-to-end tests for the changed flows. I’m comfortable working incrementally in an existing GitHub codebase with reviewable commits and PRs, including logging and documentation updates without leaking API credentials. Can you provide the repository and working proof of concept so I can compare where the current integration diverges? Looking forward to working with you.

Your Flask app does not need a rewrite; it needs the scraping layer stabilized after antibot changes without breaking the existing API behavior. The risky part in jobs like this is usually not the selector fix itself, but restoring sessions, cookies, headers, retries, and provider boundaries in a way that stays maintainable after the next upstream change. I’d handle it incrementally inside your current repository, with small reviewable PRs and tests around each repaired flow. I work regularly with Python/Flask backends, scraping integrations, and anti-bot-sensitive request flows using managed providers and browser-assisted scraping tools similar to Scrapfly. I’m comfortable working inside an existing codebase, preserving behavior unless agreed otherwise, and tightening session reuse/persistence, provider interfaces, logging, and test coverage without turning it into an unnecessary refactor. A small extra I would usually add here is a quick pass on failure visibility so broken upstream responses are easier to diagnose later. - Is the working demo/proof of concept covering one failed flow only, or can parts of it be reused across all three flows? - Do you already have a preferred test setup in the repo (pytest/unittest, fixtures, mock strategy), or should I align that as part of the cleanup?

Hi there, I can help you with restoring and improving the Scrapfly integration. I've worked with Python and Flask for years, and I've dealt with similar situations where an upstream antibot breaks an existing scraper. The approach of keeping Scrapfly behind a provider interface and focusing on session handling, retries, and persistence is exactly how I'd structure it. I'm comfortable working through small pull requests in an existing repo. I've also written my share of unit tests and e2e tests for scraping code. The demo and API key you mentioned would help me get up to speed quickly. Happy to chat more about this.

Hi, I'm Denis, a full-stack developer with extensive experience in Python, Flask, web scraping, and data extraction systems. I understand your situation: upstream site changes broke your scraping integration, and you need to restore three API flows while improving session handling, retries, and provider abstraction. This is exactly the incremental fix work I specialize in—targeted repairs with better architecture underneath. I have direct experience with Scrapfly and similar services. I've built session pooling systems, managed cookie persistence, implemented retry logic with exponential backoff, and navigated the reality that antibot measures change frequently. I know how to maintain clean provider interfaces so Scrapfly stays abstracted from your core logic. My approach is straightforward: I'll review your existing code and proof of concept to understand the data flow, then systematically restore each API endpoint while fixing headers and session state. Once flows work, I'll improve session reuse and cleanup, add proper language and currency configuration, and build tests around critical paths. Everything goes through small, reviewable pull requests for your approval. I'm comfortable working in existing codebases with git workflows, reviewing code carefully, and documenting changes thoroughly. I can start immediately. Let's discuss the details. Thanks, Denis.

With a decade of experience, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of Python, Flask and web scraping which is critical for your project. I have worked on similar projects that involved integrating web scraping services, making session handling improvements, and working with cookies, retries and persistence. I am confident that these skills will enable me to make the necessary changes to restore the three main scraping/API flows and any related improvements you require. In terms of workflows, I find the development approach outlined in your project description perfectly aligned with mine. I value the importance of modular progress rather than large rewrites - I believe it ensures clear communication, reviewability and ultimately smoother operations. I excel at working through small Pull Requests in an existing codebase and consistently delivering high-quality and documentation driven outcomes. I am comfortable using AI-assisted development tools but always validate code manually to ensure its without error. Choosing my services will not only lead to a restored integration but more importantly a reliable one. Furthermore, maintaining your existing methodology will not only be respected but enhanced. Let's discuss your unique requirements further so that we can build an exceptional solution together.

Your scraping integration is failing because the upstream site changed its antibot fingerprinting — likely TLS signatures, header order, or cookie timing. If Scrapfly's default profiles aren't bypassing this, you'll need custom session state management and request fingerprint rotation. Quick questions - are you seeing 403/429 errors or silent data extraction failures? And what's your current Scrapfly ASP (Anti-Scraping Protection) level setting? Here is the architectural approach: - PYTHON/FLASK: Refactor scraping flows into a provider abstraction layer with dependency injection so Scrapfly can be swapped without touching business logic. - WEB SCRAPING/REVERSE ENGINEERING: Debug failed requests using browser DevTools HAR exports, replicate exact header sequences, and implement stateful cookie jar persistence across retries. - SCRAPFLY SESSION HANDLING: Build connection pooling with TTL-based expiration, automatic retry logic on rate limits, and Redis-backed session state for multi-worker deployments. I've debugged similar antibot bypasses for 4 scraping platforms including Oxylabs and Bright Data where upstream sites deployed Cloudflare Turnstile mid-project. Let's schedule a 15-minute call to review your current Scrapfly config and the demo repo before I start the PR workflow.

Freelancer Proposal✓ Hello, Python Flask Scraping {{{ I HAVE 10+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN PYTHON, FLASK, WEB SCRAPING, API INTEGRATION AND EXISTING CODEBASE TROUBLESHOOTING, AND I CAN SHOW YOU RELEVANT WORK }}} I read your requirements carefully and understand that this is an incremental fix and improvement project rather than a rewrite. I can work directly within your existing private GitHub repository and preserve the current behavior while restoring all three scraping/API flows. I have strong experience with scraping integrations, session management, headers, cookies, referrers, retries, connection pooling, persistence and handling upstream changes. I can keep Scrapfly behind a clean provider interface and improve the architecture using proper dependency injection/Inversion of Control. I will also implement configurable language/currency, meaningful unit and integration tests, improved logging and technical documentation. All changes will be small, reviewable and delivered through clear Git commits and Pull Requests, with major architectural decisions discussed before implementation. I am comfortable working with existing codebases, reviewing proof-of-concepts and validating fixes against real integration scenarios. I eagerly await your positive response. Thanks

Hi, Mateo here, from Toronto. I'll be upfront: Scrapfly specifically isn't in my direct history, but session pooling, retry/expiration logic, and provider abstraction against an upstream anti-bot API is exactly the kind of problem I've solved before with other scraping services, the architecture concerns are the same regardless of which provider sits behind the interface, and Scrapfly's documented API surface is straightforward to pick up cleanly. Given anti-bot changes broke the integration, I'd start by isolating exactly which request signals (headers, cookies, referrer, session state) the upstream site is now flagging, using your working demo as the baseline for what still succeeds, then rebuild the provider interface so Scrapfly stays cleanly swappable and add configurable language/currency as specified. I'm comfortable working through small, reviewable PRs against an existing repo rather than large rewrites, and would add tests around the changed flows specifically rather than a blanket test sweep. Looking forward to working with you.

Hi, I can restore and improve your existing Python/Flask scraping integration without rewriting the application. I’m comfortable working with Flask APIs, Scrapfly-style scraping providers, anti-bot constraints, cookies, persistent sessions, retry policies, and session-pool lifecycle management. I can use the working proof of concept to restore all three flows, then isolate Scrapfly behind a clean provider interface with configurable language and currency. Changes will be delivered as small, reviewable Pull Requests with focused commits, tests, logging, and updated documentation. Existing behavior will remain unchanged unless we agree otherwise, and no credentials will be committed. Three technical questions: 1. Does the working proof of concept use the same target endpoints and response schema as the current application? 2. Where is session state currently persisted: memory, Redis, database, or filesystem? 3. Are integration tests permitted to call Scrapfly and the live upstream service, or should CI rely on recorded/mocked responses? I’m comfortable keeping all communication, approvals, and payments on Freelancer.com. Best regards, Houssame
