I am interested in having a website developed to showcase my artwork. These are contemporary paintings (acrylic on canvas). The site must be very clean and modern. I do not see many websites that meet my design standard because they are either too cluttered, too traditional, and so on. I will share some examples of websites I have found that I like to give you an idea. Basically, I want the paintings to all be shown as thumbnails on the home page with one painting showing in a larger format. By clicking on a thumbnail, that picture would become the large one. The thumbnails might be in the form of a moving banner that scrolls on its own or with mouse assistance. I do not want any borders or dominant design elements on the page. There might be some two tone or shadow effects. We could use some thin lines and dots that could move when things are viewed to create some motion and interest but it has to be done in the modern minimlist style. The background would be a dark color (maybe black) that would take up the entire browser. There would be limited copy (headline / title, paragraph). There would also be the option of seeing a larger painting in an even larger size where another window would open. There will be very few pages on this site. I want the artwork immediatelly accessible on the home page. There would also be a page about the artist, maybe a page about the inspiration for the paintings, and a contact / comment page. Finally, there should be a link page. The artist page may use the same convention as the home page concerning photographs of the artist (working etc.) with scrolling thumbnails and one larger picture that can be changed by clicking on one of the thumbnails. I have not created the high quality photographs necessary for this site yet. That will be done once I have found a web designer that I feel comfortable can do what I need perfectly. I will upload a couple of lower quality photos of the paintings so you can see what they are like.
