[url removed, login to view] is building a rings customization website, and use Flash and Away3D for the modelling. We have all the 3D models and textures set up, but are having issues with adding a texture onto a round ring. The texture is a jpg that has no compensation of the round design of the ring. The texture is just some vertical lines with different nuances to create the feeling of a golden/silver ring. We are using a PhongColorMaterial (white) as a basis, on top a BitmapMaterial (the texture-jpg) and a EnviroBitmapMaterial for diffusing the effect. These are 3 layers and maybe not the best approach but provides the quality our client likes.
After plotting the texture onto the Collada-model (.dae) we see that the vertical lines/nuances are bend more in the middle of the view when looking at the model. Btw. we are using a HoverCamera3D for dragging around the object.
We are currently at the end of our rope for fixing it, and maybe you could assist us. If you are an highly experienced European expert with fluent English skills that could help us fix this problem on the short term, we would be glad to pay for flight or hotel. And you will stay in AMSTERDAM! We need this fixed fast, due to deadlines.
Could you be of assistance in this issue?
