We are looking for someone that can provide us with a database of all the major global news and events that have affected the financial markets (globally) for the past 10 years. These major global news and events will NOT include any market index information but are only to do with the news and events that affect the financial markets.
The sort of information will include dates and details of the release of all global economic data as well as dates and details of all news that affects the financial markets.
Ideally we want a comprehensive database that is structured a bit like this:
Country in which event occurred:
Currencies affected by the event:
Details about event:
The "Currencies affected by the event" is not essential.
The "Details about the Event" section only requires a short elaboration on the headline.
This data is to be added by us to a time series database of currency prices so that the events can be linked to the changes in the currency prices. We do not require any currency price data as we already have it.
Essential is that the transfer of the information to us gives up full copyright protection. We would prefer to own the rights to this data. However if the winning bidder want us to propose using someone elses database then we must be aware of the cost of use of that database before the bid is awarded.
We would expect to see a sample of the data before awarding the project. The following milestone payments would be made:
All relevant agreed data from 2009 to todays date: 20%
All relevant agreed data from 2005 to 2009: 30%
All relevant agreed data from 2000 to 2005: 30%
Verification that all the data has not been plagurised: 20%
At any stage if the quality and coverage of the database is not as agreed then no payment will be made.
The standard of English of all written must be acceptable. Broken English, poor grammar and spelling in the text will also not be acceptable.
If the standard of the work is good and the coverage of the events is comprehensive enough and to our standards then we will also consider extending the project back 20 years.
On further consideration we think that it might be best to create this database as Ical files.
The categories that we would be looking to cover are as follows:
Significant political events (files divided by country)
Significant weather events (files divided by country)
Significant events that have influenced the financial markets (files divided by country)
Release of economic statistical data (files divided by country)
Holiday data in major countries (especially when exchanges are closed)
