There is one thing in here that will bite on day one, and it is worth deciding before the deploy rather than after. You have a persistent SQLite logging layer and a 3 strike network counter, and you want no code changes. On any normal container host the filesystem is ephemeral. Every restart, redeploy or scale event gives you a fresh empty file, so your strike counter silently resets and an attacker gets three fresh strikes on every container recycle. The logs go too. It will look like a successful deployment and the security behaviour will be quietly gone. Three honest options. Deploy on a VM or a service with a real attached volume and pin it to one instance, no code change, but no horizontal scaling. Or mount a persistent disk on the container platform, same constraint. Or change one line in the connection string to point at managed Postgres, which is the only one that survives scaling. SQLite also locks the whole file on write, so more than one uvicorn worker will start throwing database is locked under load. I would deploy it containerised behind HTTPS, environment variables for secrets rather than baked in, health check, logs going somewhere you can read, and a one page runbook for redeploying. Question.. which cloud are you on, and is one instance acceptable or does this need to scale? Ronak

A single-file FastAPI app with an embedded SQLite database and a scikit-learn model is straightforward to get onto a cloud host - I'd run it under uvicorn/gunicorn as a systemd service with nginx in front, pin the requirements so the model loads against the same sklearn version it was trained on, and put the SQLite file on persistent storage so your 3-strike logging survives restarts and redeploys. No changes to your logic, deployment only. I do Python deployments like this regularly on VPS and cloud instances. Which provider are you deploying to, and is the domain and SSL already in place?

The first deployment constraint I’d handle is SQLite persistence. On Render, the normal service filesystem is ephemeral, so deploying the database beside the application can appear to work until a restart or redeploy wipes the runtime changes. I’ll mount the SQLite database on persistent storage and configure the application path accordingly, then deploy FastAPI with the correct ASGI startup command, environment configuration, health checks and public routing. I’ll also benchmark application processing latency separately from external network RTT. The service will be deployed in the region closest to the expected traffic so the sub-50ms target can be measured realistically rather than claimed without accounting for network distance. I work with Python APIs, Linux servers, Docker and cloud/VPS deployments regularly, so the deployment and infrastructure side is directly within my stack. Deliverables will include the live API URL, deployment configuration, persistence verification and latency test results.

Hi, One thing to settle before deployment: your SQLite logging database. Most managed hosts (Render, Railway, App Runner, Heroku) run containers on ephemeral disk. The app works fine, then on the first restart or redeploy the SQLite file is gone and every logged strike goes with it. For a 3-strike counter that's not cosmetic, because counters silently reset and the behaviour looks random. Three options: attach a persistent volume and keep SQLite, deploy to a plain VM with real disk, or migrate to Postgres. For your scale a small VM or a persistent volume is cheapest and needs no code change. Postgres only if you'll run more than one instance, since SQLite doesn't handle concurrent writers well. What I'll deliver: Dockerfile, deployment to your chosen host, HTTPS with a domain, environment-based config so keys aren't in the file, persistence verified by restarting the container and confirming the log survives, health check, and a short runbook for redeploying and reading logs. No code changes to your logic. If the scikit-learn model or SQLite schema needs touching for persistence, I'll confirm with you first. 3.5 years with Python, FastAPI, Docker and AWS deployments.
