We have a list of 3,000 website domains. We need to match them to organizations which the website domains belong to. Matching the list of domains should take around 30 hours.
The instructions below are from the Google spreadsheet you will work with. I will send the link to the spreadsheet to the person who is awarded the job.
Instructions: Please read carefully!
Goal: Fill all **empty** entries in column B
ONLY DO ROWS in pink (from B3431 and down)
1. For every empty cell in column B, google the domain in adjacent cell in column A
2. If it's a fake domain (eg [url removed, login to view]), enter "Fakes" in column B
3. If it's generic, eg Gmail / Comcast, basically any ISP / telecoms company, enter Generics
4. Else, if it belongs to an organization:
i. Check if the company already exists, in the list of companies in the Companies tab
ii. If it does, use that as the exact spelling for the company name
iii. Else, just enter the company name as you find it, using the styleguide notes below
Styleguide for company names:
Remove any full stops. Eg: "A.T. Kearney" should be "AT Kearney"
Don't include company type qualifiers such as Inc, LLC, Ltd, Gmbh etc
NB: Do not touch the cells in B that are already filled ;)
