The author of six published novels and a short story collection (see my freelancer profile for full details), I have over ten years' proofreading and editing experience. In that time, I have worked with all kinds of different writers - from first-time authors and the self-published to the far more established - writing in all kinds of different genres: literary, historical, crime/thriller, romance, YA etc. Familiar with all publishing industry standards, I will proofread your m/s in three stages. Firstly, a basic read-through to eliminate any typos, grammatical lapses etc. Secondly, a more techincal read-through focusing on sentence structure, word choice etc. And thirdly, a final read-through to ensure that your book has that essential professional read-through.
