Accounts Software Specification
Background - The Original program was completed in 1997. It was written in Borland Delphi 1 and is 16 bit. There is no access to previous source code. The parent company ceased to market it in 2002. It was different from other accounting software as it was aimed at cash based businesses, eg shops and restaurants, therefore does not need a sales ledger. The program is still supported by myself for the remaining existing users. It is not compatible with Windows 7 64 bit, (it will work with 32 bit versions). It is also a struggle to get it to communicate with newer printers.
Accounting periods are weekly, not monthly, either 52 or 53 weeks (occasionally 54 in a leap year. As the year is calendar, the first and last weeks are usually part weeks. Much like any other purchase ledger, except purchases can be posted at cost and selling price. Also bills can be recorded against individual suppliers but can be paid by a buying group along with other invoices from other suppliers. Facility for direct debits.
