I have a finished PCB for an embedded controller and now need a precise edit: two signal relays (IC13 – IMB03CGR and IC14 – IM03GR) must disappear, with their switching paths turned into permanent connections that keep every original function intact. All design source files—schematic layout, libraries, Gerbers, BOM—are ready for you, so you can jump straight into analysis. What I expect from you • Examine the present schematic and board to confirm exactly how each relay steers its signals. • Decide the correct net-to-net routing once the relays and any now-redundant drivers are gone (no blind shorts, please). • Edit the schematic, update the PCB traces or drop in 0 Ω links where necessary, then run DRC/ERC to be sure nothing else breaks. • Regenerate fabrication outputs (Gerber, BOM, Pick-and-Place) that I can send straight to the board house. • Deliver a detailed written report explaining every change and its electrical impact. I’m happy to hear additional improvement ideas if they clearly add value; otherwise keep the rest of the design as is. Tools: work in the original CAD package supplied (Altium.—I’ll provide the full project folder). If you’ve done relay-to-solid routing conversions or similar re-spins before, this should be quick work—accuracy is more important than speed.

Hello, I have carefully reviewed your project requirements and can complete this PCB modification in Altium Designer. With over 15 years of experience in PCB design, embedded hardware, and industrial electronics, I have performed many schematic revisions and PCB re-spins where electromechanical components were removed while preserving the original circuit functionality. For this project, I will: • Analyze the schematic and PCB to understand the function of relays IC13 and IC14. • Determine the correct permanent signal routing without introducing incorrect net connections. • Update the schematic and PCB layout, removing redundant relay driver circuitry where appropriate. • Perform full ERC/DRC verification to ensure the design remains electrically correct. • Generate updated Gerber, BOM, Pick-and-Place, and manufacturing files. • Provide a detailed engineering report explaining every modification and its electrical impact. I will preserve the existing design wherever possible and only modify the circuitry required for the relay removal. If I identify any worthwhile improvements during the review, I will discuss them with you before making changes. I look forward to reviewing the Altium project files and working with you. Best regards, Hamza Electronics Engineer

Hi, I can update your Altium PCB project by removing relay IC13 and IC14, converting their switching paths into correct permanent connections, and regenerating the complete manufacturing package. The best solution is to first review the existing schematic, relay pin functions, connected nets, driver circuitry, PCB routing, and BOM impact. Then I’ll determine the correct fixed net-to-net connections, remove the relays and any redundant components where appropriate, update the schematic and layout, add direct routing or 0Ω links if needed, and run ERC/DRC checks before generating fresh fabrication outputs. I’m comfortable with Altium Designer, embedded controller PCB edits, relay signal-path analysis, schematic updates, layout rework, BOM cleanup, Gerber generation, Pick-and-Place files, DRC/ERC validation, and technical change documentation. Deliverables will include: * Updated Altium schematic * Updated PCB layout * Relay removal from IC13/IC14 * Correct permanent signal routing * Redundant driver review * ERC/DRC checks * Updated BOM * Gerber files * Pick-and-Place files * Written change report with electrical impact I’ll keep the rest of the design unchanged unless a clear improvement is needed, and I’ll focus on accuracy, safe net mapping, and board-house-ready output files. Best regards Ankit

I understand that the key task here is not simply removing two relays, but correctly translating their switching behavior into fixed routing while preserving the original controller functionality. My approach would be: Review the schematic and PCB to identify exactly how IC13 (IMB03CGR) and IC14 (IM03GR) are being used, including the effective COM / NO / NC signal paths and any interaction with the relay driver circuitry. Determine the correct permanent net-to-net routing required after relay removal, rather than applying blind shorts. Update the schematic and PCB in Altium, including removal of redundant relay/driver circuitry where appropriate and implementation of direct routing or 0 Ω links if that is the cleanest solution. Run ERC/DRC and connectivity checks to ensure the change does not introduce any unintended electrical or layout issues. Regenerate the required fabrication outputs, including Gerbers, BOM, Pick-and-Place, and provide a concise engineering change report describing every modification and its electrical impact. I’m comfortable working directly in the original Altium project files and keeping the rest of the design unchanged unless a clear improvement is worth suggesting.

Hi there, The key here is not simply deleting two relays, but preserving the exact signal behavior they created while removing every unnecessary switching path safely. I would start by tracing IC13 and IC14 in the schematic and PCB to understand their common, NO, and NC connections, then define the correct permanent net routing before making any layout changes. After that, I’d update the schematic, remove unused driver parts if they are no longer needed, add direct traces or 0 Ω links where appropriate, and run ERC/DRC before regenerating clean fabrication files. I can handle this as a controlled PCB re-spin, with minimal disturbance to the rest of the design and a clear change report showing what was removed, what was permanently connected, and why the original function is preserved. One quick question: should the final connections follow the relays’ normally-open state, normally-closed state, or their energized operating state? I hope we have the opportunity to work together. Best regards, Patrick.

Hello, I can help with this relay removal PCB redesign. I have hands-on experience with PCB repair, trace restoration, electronics troubleshooting, and circuit analysis. For this task, I can review the schematic and PCB, identify how IC13 and IC14 switch the signals, and determine the correct permanent net-to-net connections without blind shorts. I will update the schematic and PCB, remove or mark redundant relay driver parts if needed, run ERC/DRC checks, and provide updated manufacturing outputs and a short report explaining each change. Before starting, I would like to confirm one key point: should each relay be replaced by its normally-open or normally-closed contact path? Best regards, Anton

I would love to assist you with this. I have extensive experience with hardware layout and schematic design, including component lifecycle re-spins and relay-to-solid signal conversions. I understand the exact requirements: analyzing the current schematic to trace how IC13 and IC14 steer their signals, permanently bridging the correct paths while cleanly isolating or removing the redundant driver components (transistors, diodes, resistors) and ensuring no floating nodes or blind shorts are introduced. I will deliver a fully updated Altium project passing all ERC/DRC checks, a production-ready fabrication package (Gerbers, BOM and Pick-and-Place files) and a detailed engineering report explaining every electrical change and its impact. Accuracy and maintaining the signal integrity of the remaining circuitry will be my top priorities. The project delivery date is expected to be 3-4 days from my estimate.

Hi, I will execute the precise modification of your Altium project to permanently bridge the switching paths of relays IC13 (IMB03CGR) and IC14 (IM03GR), maintaining 100% functional continuity while safely removing redundant components. Technical Approach: Circuit Analysis: Map out the activation logic and signal contacts for both IM/IMB signal relays to identify their required default states (NO or NC) as expected by your system logic. Bypass Implementation: Remove the relay footprints and their associated drive circuitry (flyback diodes, base resistors, transistors) to eliminate parasitic leakage. Tie the signal nets directly via optimized copper copper traces or 0-ohm jumper pads. Verification: Run strict Altium ERC and DRC checks to ensure zero floating input pins on the MCU side or accidental power/ground shorts after driver removal. Deliverables: Cleaned Altium project directory (Schematic and PCB layout files). Production export package (Gerber X2, NC Drill, Pick-and-Place, assembly drawings) with 100% clean DRC. Updated assembly Bill of Materials (BOM) reflecting the component exclusions. An Engineering Change Order (ECO) report detailing net-to-net connectivity adjustments and their electrical impacts. I have handled numerous hardware re-spins and optimization patches in Altium. Ready to review your project folder immediately! Best regards,
