I’m building a consumer-grade device that relies on a disposable filter, and I need an embedded electronics design that reliably tells users when that filter has reached the end of its life. The core requirement is clear: once the filter’s usable period or flow-rate threshold is met, the system must alert the user that a replacement is due. Here is what I’m expecting from you: • Hardware design: a compact, low-cost circuit (microcontroller-based or otherwise) able to sense filter usage and I don’t want a beep sound in the hardware, I only need LED indication with red and green lights. • Firmware: well-documented code that tracks usage time/flow and triggers the end-of-life signal with accuracy and repeatability. • Prototype files: schematic, PCB layout, BOM, and compiled firmware ready for quick in-house testing. • Brief validation notes: how you verified that the alert fires at the correct point. I want to build a timer-based system in which a green LED blinks at a fixed frequency for 11 months, and after that, a red LED blinks for 1 month. The entire system should run on a coin cell battery. The dimensions of my project will be 30 mm (length) × 26 mm (breadth) × 5 mm (depth), and the system needs to be designed within these dimensions.

Coin-cell powered, ultra-compact PCB design with 9–12 month battery life targets is work I've done and shipped before — including a wearable device running on a coin cell where deep-sleep duty cycling, LED drive current budgeting, and PCB footprint under 30mm were all critical constraints. Identical disciplines to what you're building. For this design: • MCU: low-power variant (e.g. ATtiny or STM32L0) in deep sleep, waking on a watchdog timer to blink the LED — active current kept under 1mA, sleep current under 1µA to hit 12-month CR2032 life • Green LED blinks at fixed frequency for 11 months, firmware counter switches to red LED at month 11, runs for 1 month • PCB: fits within 30×26×5mm, KiCad design, single or double layer Deliverables in 3 days: schematic, PCB layout, BOM, compiled firmware with month-counter logic, and a brief validation note confirming LED switchover fires correctly. Once tested, I will ship the assembled prototype to you. What blink frequency are you targeting for the green LED — once per second, or slower for further power saving?

Hi, I have worked on compact, low-power embedded designs for consumer products and this project is well within my scope. A timer-based green and red LED indicator running on a coin cell for 12 months is a well-defined problem. I would use an ultra-low-power microcontroller such as the STM32L0 or MSP430, running in deep sleep with periodic wakeups to track elapsed time and drive the LEDs accordingly. The design can comfortably fit within your 30 x 26 x 5 mm envelope. What I will deliver: - Compact PCB schematic and layout within your specified dimensions, designed for coin cell operation - BOM with cost-effective, readily available components - Firmware that blinks the green LED for 11 months and switches to red for the final month, with accurate timekeeping across the battery life - Validation notes explaining how the timing accuracy is verified - Gerbers and compiled firmware ready for in-house testing Let me know if you want to discuss component selection or battery life calculations before we start. Timeline 3 days Thank you.

Proposal: Filter Life Indicator – Design Guidance & Connection Plan I can provide a clear and practical approach for implementing your Filter Life Indicator system based on your requirements. ? What I will provide - Simple and effective circuit concept - Step-by-step connection guide (pin-to-pin wiring) - Component selection (low-power MCU / timer-based approach) - LED indication logic (Green for 11 months, Red for replacement period) - Basic firmware logic explanation (if microcontroller is used) ? Approach The system will be designed using a low-power timing method suitable for coin cell operation. I will explain how to implement long-duration timing using sleep modes or timer ICs, along with proper LED interfacing and reset mechanism. ? Deliverables - Circuit diagram (easy to understand) - Connection instructions - Component list (BOM) - Working explanation of system behavior --- This will allow your team to directly implement and build the hardware with clarity and minimal confusion. I can also support further if needed for PCB or firmware development. Looking forward to collaborating.

Hi I will deliver the complete manual timer prototype along with PCB, casing and working manual. This can be used repeatedly by using an inbuilt reset switch to restart the 12 month timer. This is going to be an extremely low power system to last a whole year or more using a coin cell (CR2032) with a very low timer drift to maintain accuracy. The casing will be in ABS plastic with a nice premium look and feel like an injection moulded part. Thanks and regards Soumitra
