We want to get the design of a simple audio input/output peripheral device targeting speech applications.
The key elements of the design are a simple PCB with 6 surface mount MEMS microphones, one small loudspeaker, and electronics to perform A/D conversion on the 6 microphone streams and connect them to a USB 2.0 port, plus to take an output audio stream from USB, convert to analog and drive a small speaker (4-7cm diameter). This is really just an audio codec to USB bridge, with a USB to speaker driver. No other signal processing is required on the board. Power is supplied by the USB connection. The design much include the microphones, LEDs, board connectors, USB/codec IC and all necessary passive components.
The designer should be familiar both with methods for low-cost board design, for example to minimize the number of PCB layers, and with methods to maintain good signal integrity for analog signals to reduce noise and minimize EMI necessary for FCC Class B certification.
