Previously we had another person building these portable incubators for us that was a retired electrical engineer. He suddenly passed away and we have been unable to get any of the intellectual property concerning the incubators from the estate While we still have many working units that are still operational we do know in the future that we will eventually need more units therefore we are embarking on this project to design our own incubator with help from some talented individual or team from Freelancer.
Initial Requirements for Version 3
Here is what we are trying to achieve:
PCB should not be bulky or interfere with portability of the unit
Power Source: (2) 9 volt alkaline batteries
Some kind of on/off switch
Volume of Water to be Heated: 100 ml
Water Temperature Starting Point: 80 °F
Optimal Temperature Point: 98.6 °F
Optimal Temperature Range 95 to 99 °F
Time at Optimal Temp: 3.33 Hours
Other Notes: Liquid should never go over 100 °F and once it reaches 95 °F it should not deviate below that temperature.
The basic parts consist of the following:
1 PVC bag
1 metal sensor probe that is inserted in the bag.
1 sensor that is inserted in the probe and connected to a controller board.
1 flexible heater that fits under the bag and is connected to the controller board
2 9 volt battery leads that is connected to the controller board.
Software should be written to keep the temperature at the desired range.
