i am in needed to design two electric motors. One for use in a Pod and one for use in a conventional outboard ship.
The pod design motor should be an electric 500HP (equivalent HP to gas), and scale-able to 900HP for future larger boats. It will be installed into the pod design see attached. It will connect directly to the propshaft and then to the prop. It should be DC for more thrust and torque, water cooled, at-least 97% efficient, be variable speed (able to push a 39,000lb yacht at speeds between 0knots and 40knots), no heavier than 1500Lbs and can fit within a the space inside the pod in the attached picture. It should also have no wearable parts, be able to be submerged in salt water, and require no maintenance for at least 10 years. The motor should be able to run at both low speeds during fishing (5 knots) for up to 10 hours continuously, and at the cruise speed of 30 knots for an indefinite period of time.
The second motors will replace the gas engine in a standard outboard boat engine (also attached). It should be equivalent to a 250HP gas engine, 97% efficient, able to fit into the outboard housing as seen in the pictures attached (I have generic CAD files on the housing if needed), also variable speed, and able to push a 21ft center console boat at speeds close to 50knots.
