I’m a mechanical engineering student with hands-on experience in mechanical design, CAD, fabrication, DC motors, limit switches, and low-voltage control systems. I can design and build the complete target carrier system, including the trolley, guide rail, pulley arrangement, motor bracket, target holder, and the electrical control box. I can also integrate the two limit switches so the motor automatically stops at either end while still allowing forward/stop/reverse manual control. For the structure, I would recommend a rigid aluminium or steel rail with a lightweight but strong trolley and suitable nylon rope/cable. The 12V geared motor you already have should be sufficient, and I can design the pulley ratio and mounting around its available torque and RPM. I would also include appropriate fusing, protected wiring, strain relief, and a compact control enclosure to make the system reliable and easy to maintain.
