The project is a simple clock display that uses the following items:
Wemos D1 Mini ([login to view URL]:d1:d1_mini)
Adafruit Real Time Clock ([login to view URL])
DotStar Addressable 5050 RGB LED ([login to view URL])
The project is to run a clock with thirty-six (36) RGB LEDs representing time in a 24 hour period controlled by the Wemos and regulated for accuracy by the Real Time Clock.
The finished product would include a simple wiring diagram for the parts illustrating which connections go where and a simple program controlling the clock display with the following logic:
Each 24 hour period is divided into 36 parts (hours) each of which have 36 parts (minutes) for a total of 1296 parts per day (24 hour period).
The clock would work like a conventional clock but instead of 24 hours it would be based on 36, each with 36 parts or minutes. The LEDs will eventually be arranged in a circle so that each will illuminate around the circle as the hour passes and then the “hour” LED will change once the minutes make a full revolution.
