Requirement:
1. You must be a native English speaking
2. You must have experience in editing articles and stories or a story/articles writer yourself
3. You have the knowledge in playing RPG type video games
4. You must complete the story editing and analysis in within 3 - 4 weeks max
Current Situation:
We have a fantastic Fantasy Medieval Story that were written specifically for our RPG development. At the moment, we are close to integrating the story with the game. There are 10 Chapter only for now & each chapter would have 6 different sub chapter (which is about 4-5 pages max each chapter).
However we do face some difficulty with the story to be integrated into the game, and therefore we would require you to do the following:
1. Story proof reading and analyze the entire story. You must understand the entire story and able to get a good grasp of the contents and specifics.
2. Story editing and rewriting on some parts and chapter to suit the flow of the game but without affecting the overall story plots and emotions as the original writer intended. Throughout the story, they are “companion character” specifics dialogues. Need you to edit them to become companion character non specifics, and therefore need to change the wording a little to suit this purpose but without affecting the entire contents. However in some chapter, it need to be companion character specifics.
Notes: Companions are the allies that accompany the heroes of the game (which are selected by the player). The player should be allowed to choose their companions to the party that the player trying to make. However the present story does not allow that. This would cause a problem if we choose to follow the story, we could not allow player to choose their companion. If we choose to allow player to choose companion, we would lose the story. Therefore, we would like you to re edit the story lines especially the dialogue to be "companion non specifics" which mean the dialogues now can be use by any companions choose by the player.
3. Story Flow Diagram (See the attached). This is needed to allow us to able to visualize the contents and thus able to make the respective models, decors and map/location requirement.
4. Identify the type of :
• Location/Map with descriptions (based on your Story flow diagram above) based on chapter
• Direct NPC (non-player character) and some descriptions of the NPC. You are allow to interpret it to your own words about the locations/maps and NPC. NPC does not mean Companions. We will give you the list of Companions names so that you can identify the rest to be as NPC.
You need to list down one by one into the Excel Format. The Sample Format are as the attached.
Others Additional Add-ons to the story
1. Battle Dialogues for each heroes and companions. Need around 12 sentences for each character (there are 11 character in total). The sentences are divided into:
• 4 x when spotting an enemy. Example: Danger is coming, be prepared!
• 4 x during battle speeches: Example: Take that you foul beast!
• 4 x require help. Example: What are you doing! I need help here!
• 4 x after battle over. Example: Is everyone all right?
2. NPC Conversation (chit chat) between 2 NPC or group of NPC that are related to the heroes/companions but its makes the game a bit more alive. A sample [login to view URL] This could be anything from telling a joke (no sexist, racist, or offensive/sensitive issue in nature), or some rumor (pertaining to the map or situation). For every location there will be 3-4 dialogue like this. There are 1 to 2 location in each sub chapter. Estimated around 30 maps/location.
3. Conversation between 2 companions. A sample [login to view URL] We need just a few dialogues between 2 companions that are not specific to the game. The dialogues should be 3 of them for each companion pairs.
Dylantan, I would enjoy being able to assist you in your project. I am an avid player of RPGs, both on the board and on the screen (be it PC, PS3, etc). The DA:O references were good, not just because that RPG is incredible, but its reference gives me an understanding that you are setting your game's sights and expectations high. I am a native speaker (and writer) of English; I have a solid experience in RPGs and their story element; I can complete your project within your 4 week deadline. My experience is still fresh, with plenty of room for expanding and growing. Thank you for time in reading this. I hope that I can be of assistance to you in your work, and that I hope i will be increasing my experience under your employership.
I have been playing RPG games before they went video, and have written a RPG system myself. I have also written a series of Fantasy books, the first of 13 currently published. Resume and samples are attached via PM.
