Hi Paul, My name is Andrew. I know how you feel, from a freelancer's point of view there are far too many substandard and scamming users of these sort of websites. It seems all too easy to post and bid on jobs without full regulation from the website. As a result I would estimate only about 10% of projects are successfully completed. I would suggest, in this instance, not releasing any payment until you are fully happy with the work. If you set out exactly what needs doing before offering a contract to someone then they will have no option but to complete the job to the standard required before they get paid a penny. I would never expect a payment until you are satisfied with the result. Of course, things never go entirely to plan but it is important to work closely with the employer to fix any discrepancies between each other. Then, when the final work is submitted, both sides will be happy and the transaction can be a smooth one. I will work closely to ensure only the required standard is met.
