Project Overview We are labeling photographs of overhead electric distribution lines (poles, crossarms, insulators, transformers, conductors, switches, cutouts, etc.) against a defined exception schema. For each image, the reviewer identifies the equipment in the photo and classifies the defect ("exception") shown, using a reference guide we will provide. Priority levels are assigned automatically from the chosen exception — reviewers are not responsible for prioritizing. What You'll Do - Review raw inspection photos one at a time - Identify the primary piece of equipment in the image (e.g., wood pole, pin insulator, jumper, cutout) - Select the correct exception from a provided schema (e.g., "Flashover," "Tie wire missing," "Burnt connector," "Oil leakage") - Flag images where the defect doesn't fit any schema entry, rather than forcing a match - Work from a written reviewer guide we will share, which includes per-exception focus notes and reference photos Required Background This work needs real linework or electrical utility experience. Please apply only if you have one or more of the following: - Hands-on experience as a distribution lineman, line technician, or apprentice - Substation, T&D, or electric utility inspection experience - Engineering or technician-level training in overhead distribution systems - Prior work annotating utility inspection imagery (drone, helicopter, or ground-based) Nice to Have - Familiarity with US/North American distribution construction standards - Comfort working with structured tagging tools (we'll provide training) - Ability to write short, clear notes when flagging out-of-schema cases Logistics - Remote, flexible hours - Rate: open to your quote — please include hourly or per-image - All work is done in our annotation tool; no equipment required beyond a reliable computer and internet

Hello there, Your job post caught my attention because image review for overhead distribution systems requires real field understanding, not guesswork. I understand you need accurate labeling of poles, crossarms, insulators, transformers, conductors, switches, cutouts, and defect conditions based on a strict schema, where correct equipment recognition and exception matching are critical. I’ve supported technical review and structured annotation work where consistency, detail, and following operational guidelines were essential, and I’d love to help deliver reliable classifications that reduce rework and improve dataset quality. The workflow would be handled carefully by reviewing each inspection image one at a time, identifying the primary asset correctly, matching visible defects to the provided schema, and flagging unclear or out of schema cases rather than forcing incorrect labels. I also understand the importance of using your reviewer guide, reference photos, and writing concise notes when edge cases appear so your dataset remains clean and usable. Best regards, Mobasher Reza
