Offline POS on Windows lives or dies on the KOT path, if the printer stalls the whole till freezes, so I'll queue tickets on a background thread with retry. Built in C#/.NET (WPF) for reliability with Windows hardware. 2) Printing done right. Receipt printer at the counter AND the KOT firing to the kitchen printer straight from the billing screen — via proper ESC/POS thermal printing with correct formatting, not a flaky print-dialog hack. This is the first thing I'd get solid. 3) Stock that never drifts. Each sale atomically decrements the central stock in one transaction so counts stay correct, plus a daily close/reconciliation. 4) Built to grow. Offline per outlet now, but I'll structure the local schema so optional consolidation/sync across outlets is possible later — without a rebuild. A few questions: how many outlets/terminals?
