Looking to create a database to track our products through the process of 'build-out' through 'shipment' and future repairs.
We would like to use FileMaker Pro or another reliable platform of your suggestion. We have 5 users. Currently using a spreadsheet with about 25 columns.
The products we sell are laptops.
We need to:
Record all Serial Numbers of every component. (5-10 different serial numbers per laptop)
Record the customer information. (Address, contact details, Order Number Info)
Record order details. (laptop configuration, upgrades, details notes, specs.)
Record pictures taken of the product and contents of box before shipping.
Record Shipment Tracking Numbers.
The ability to search all data by centralized Search field.
Must work on an Ipad.
Clean User Interface with no scrolling Left to Right. Most data when searched should be displayed on one screen with minimal scrolling Up or Down.
The ability to select a Serial Number and make a Repair Ticket from it (RMA)
Record repair/RMA information, work done to the repair, technician notes, status of Repair.
The ability to create a 'work-order' our technicians can see on their dashboard, allowing them to process the work-order by entering the above serial number data and details.
Show a 'work in progress' dashboard to be displayed on a central monitor in the work area, displaying pending order statuses and repair statuses for RMAs.
I am open to additional functionality. Or using a database you have previously built but revised to meet our requirements.
I would like to start this project right away. This database will need maintenance, future revisions and the ability to be expanded in the future.
