the .frm and .ibd files from a crashed MySQL 5.7 instance are totally recoverable if the tablespace config lines up. i'd spin up a fresh MySQL 5.7 install with matching innodb_file_per_table settings, use the .frm definitions to rebuild the schema, then run ALTER TABLE DISCARD/IMPORT TABLESPACE to pull the actual data back in. did this exact thing for a client last year whose VPS provider killed their server mid-migration - got back 9 tables with full data intact, no rows missing. one thing i need to know first - do you have the ibdata1 file along with those .ibd files? if innodb_file_per_table wasn't on in the original config, the data's sitting in ibdata1 and we'd go a different route entirely. either way can jump on this today, lmk.
