I need a complete SQL course designed for absolute beginners and I want it built around hands-on, interactive exercises rather than passive video or lengthy text. By the time a learner finishes, they should be able to write basic SELECT statements, understand simple database design concepts such as primary keys and normalization, and confidently perform INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE operations. Scope • Structure the material in small, incremental challenges that run directly in the browser or a containerised sandbox (e.g. SQLite, MySQL or PostgreSQL—whichever you prefer as long as setup is friction-free for the learner). • Each module should introduce a concept with a brief explanation, immediately followed by an auto-graded task so students see the result of their query. • Cover three core areas: – Basic queries & data retrieval (SELECT, WHERE, ORDER BY, simple joins) – Fundamental database design principles (tables, keys, relationships, normal forms at a high level) – Data manipulation (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE) Deliverables 1. Curriculum outline with estimated completion time for each module. 2. All SQL exercise scripts, starter databases, and answer keys. 3. An accompanying markdown or HTML file that provides concise explanations, hints, and expected outputs for the grader. 4. Instructions for me to deploy the interactive environment (open-source tools or low-cost cloud options are fine). Acceptance Criteria • Every exercise must run without manual intervention and return a clear “pass/fail” to the learner. • No prior SQL knowledge should be assumed; jargon is explained or avoided. • The full course should be completable in roughly 6-8 study hours. If you have experience creating interactive coding content or have built auto-graded SQL challenges before, let me know how you plan to approach the sandbox setup and share a brief sample exercise.
