Power Query as the loading layer if your data arrives as CSV exports or multiple files — one refresh cleans headers, forces consistent data types, and feeds the model. No VBA unless you actually want a one-click refresh button; a macro adds a .xlsm and security prompts for little gain here. Pivots built on that table (or the data model if you need distinct counts), with a notes tab explaining each key formula and where to press Refresh All. I do this kind of data plumbing regularly: for a Chilean B2B distributor I built the ingestion of their BSale API — 122,000 documents, 880 SKUs, 738 customers — normalised and segmented for reporting that runs daily.
