You want the row and column structure preserved so pivots work afterwards, and that is the bit worth being precise about, because most extracts fail it in one specific way. Tables that run across a page break come out as two separate tables. The header repeats at the top of page two, so unless that repeat is detected and dropped, your Excel ends up with a header row sitting in the middle of the data. A pivot then reads that row as a record, and the column type flips to text, which is usually the moment someone notices the totals stopped working. The other one is merged or spanning cells in the original. A cell covering two columns gets assigned to one of them and the rest of that row shifts sideways. So after extraction I reconcile row counts per table and, where there are numeric columns, tie the totals back to the PDF. If those agree the structure survived.
