Performs all required statistical and clerical duties necessary to compute and prepare multi-state hourly and/or salaried payrolls within multiple corporate entities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Calculate time card information, verify for accuracy and perform required checks and balances.
•Data entry of time clock card information into payroll system.
•Process payroll to their entirety.
•Prepare weekly tax payments.
•Prepare and distribute various payroll reports.
•File appropriate ACH tax payments.
•Verify and calculate all federal, state and local tax deposits related to payroll processing.
•Process tax levies, garnishments and child support orders.
•Reconcile and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll tax reports as well as general ledger entries.
•Responsible for the preparation of monthly commissions and the issuance of the corresponding commission checks.
•Audit new employee set-up in HRIS/Payroll system, checking for accuracy.
Education and Experience:
•High School diploma or GED
•A minimum of three (3) years of experience processing payroll required, within a multi-state environment preferred.
•Advanced coursework in the area of finance at a four-year college or technical school is preferred.
•Proficient in the use of a ten key calculator.
•Microsoft Office® proficiency especially with Word® and Excel®.Must be able to create simple formulas in Excel® and be proficient with the creation and use of pivot tables.
•Strong communication and organizational skills are required.
•Ability to research and retain knowledge of payroll taxation relating to pre-tax deductions
•The selected individual must be a team player and detail oriented
•Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics® AX and NOVAtime electronic timekeeping systems is desirable.
