I am comfortable with unknown stacks, actually I am a master of different tools. If it is SQL, python, R, or a mix of them believe I can handle them. Most of the time lags are due to poor design choice or lazy coding so it can be fixed. Alignment is a UI issue so can be fixed. To explain the flow a mix of diagrams with a README can work well so you have a better visual clue of what is going on. We can start by having a look into the UI and seeing the code base.
