Removing duplicates is the part of this I would want to agree on before touching anything, because on service records it is not a safe operation. The same vehicle genuinely can have two jobs on one day. A car comes in for a service, comes back at four with a warranty complaint, that is two real records that look like a duplicate to any exact match rule. Delete them and you have quietly understated your job count and your revenue for that month. Going the other way, the actual duplicates usually do not match exactly. Registrations get typed with and without spaces, O instead of zero, I instead of one, sometimes the state code dropped. So exact matching misses the real ones and removes the fake ones. Worst of both. What I do is normalise first, strip spacing and case, map the characters people confuse, then compare on registration plus date plus job type. Anything that matches goes to a review sheet with both rows side by side rather than being deleted. You approve, I apply. Nothing disappears without you seeing it. Same for the field validation. Everything that fails gets flagged in its own column rather than corrected on a guess, because a wrong odometer reading is worse than a blank one.
