I am attempting to revive the following project: [login to view URL]
It is a distributed file system for large files over wide-area networks.
Right now, the project works when the client and master/slave nodes are running on the same machine,
but the client doesn't appear to be able to upload/download files from the master/slave nodes when running on machines in different networks (WAN).
I suspect that there is an issue with traversing firewalls or some sort of asymmetric network problem, and I'm not familiar enough with ICE/STUN/TURN or other various hole-punching techniques to fix it myself.
If someone has some experience with this and is willing to help, that would be great. Thank you!
Hi, this is Pavel here.
In my past, in the days UDT (the communication library seems to be used in Sector/Sphere) was very popular I developed the big project (remote control/remote monitoring for large-scale Win networks) using that lib.
Have you deployed a rendezvous server? Where it is running? Have you tried to run UDT example apps in your distributed environment?
Thanks,
WBW,
Pavel.
