In this project the end goal is to have a stand-alone cross-platform application that can be used to calculate total run-time of a machine based on generated log-files. These log files are essentially a text files that lists among other things one ore more instances off "Elapsed: 00:14:38" where format is HH:MM:SS. The program will sum all these instances into a total run-time.
In a typical use-case a folder (sometimes with multiple sub-folders) containing *.log files (as well as other non relevant files with other file endings) will be dragged and dropped into the app-window.
Not crucial, but could be nice: the ability to drag and drop several times, and add these newly dragged items to the total calculation.
The included GUI mock-up is just for reference, and tries to give the general idea of what that mini-app can do.
This small app will be mostly used within Windows environment, but would be great if it's possible to build this easily for osx and Linux using FOSS applications.
The code should ideally be put on GitHub and be clean and well documented. It would be nice with some general instructions on how to edit the appearance of the app, how to edit static text in the app, some information regarding what programs and environment needed to do this, as well as how to compile it. Instructions for Linux would be sufficient.
We imagine a suitable cross-platform solution could be made using C/C++ and GUI with GTK+ but are open for suggestions.
Attached are some example log files, be aware that sometimes the log files have multiple instances of "Elapsed: HH:MM:SS" which should be added to the total sum.
