We need a simple program, to run on a Mac, to periodically poll an HTTP server and pop up a message box if a certain condition is met. The message box shall contain two buttons - on to simply dismiss the box and another to open a webpage in the user's browser. Ideally the program should use wxWidgets and be written in C++. We have a version compiled for Windows which we can make available to the selected Freelancer for illustration. Only bids from freelancers based in European (not necessarily EU) countries will be considered. To demonstrate you have read these details, begin your bid with a common salutation or greeting in the official language of the country you are based in. Non-Mac specific technical assistance can be provided so this could be a good project for freelancers just starting out. We should like the work completed in a reasonable time but bids quoting unrealistic time scales will not be considered.
Good Morning,
could you please send me details of the server that you're trying to poll and the condition that you would like met and I'll attempt to send you a working demo. Only after you're happy with the results would I ask you to accept my bid.
Could you please let me know what version of Mac OS you're running
Many Thanks,
Nik
Доброго дня!
If I win this bid I will do it using native MacOS X means - Cocoa/Objective-C.
The application may be arranges as non-UI agent (does not have icon in Dock), menu item (like Dropbox) or just regular application.
What is format of info which is pulled from HTTP server - HTML? XML? JSON?
Do you plan to submit the app in Mac AppStore? - it takes up to a week and in not included in time of my bid.
