Illustrator / Artist to create a seamless pattern for brand & packaging use

What Mellie Did Next is a small start up business committed to helping busy women make the life juggle easier.

We believe in community and inclusion, women supporting women and recognise without judgement that there is no one "right way" for women to live and thrive.

We provide planning and self care resources for women managing competing priorities and women who are neurodivergent - this mission is close to my heart as a busy professional woman with ADHD, mum to two young children and start-up founder.

We are looking for an artist to create a seamless pattern design for use on our packaging.

We specifically want a repeating pattern featuring figures of diverse women going about their busy day. Eg: women with cellphones, women shopping, women with prams, business women, mums, women with disability, women in hijabs etc.

The artwork will be required in a black & white simple version as well as colourways incorporating or complimenting brand colours.

We prefer a watercolour or contemporary style and the successful artist is likely to be commissioned for more brand work in the future. We are also open to artist suggestions following on from the initial brief.

The artwork will be used on branded packaging for a subscription box, tissue paper and wrapping.

Our brand colours are melon/coral pink, tiffany blue, black and white. We use tints and shades of these colours only, varying from light airy pastels through to bright strong accents.

Our logo is a pair of black stilettos with capital lettering "What Mellie Did Next". Any artwork would need to work with these elements.

You can see our brand on Instagram - [login to view URL] and our website - [login to view URL]

Hex codes and logo files can be provided to the successful artist if required.

We are a start-up and have a limited budget, however our founder has a history of successfully working with illustrators on a tight budget during start up phase and continuing to commission work and collaborate with them for years after launch on a previous business.

You can view that business - [login to view URL] on the web and Instagram. While our founder is no longer involved with that business, you can see the work by Lisa Flanagan used in the logo, Christmas versions of the logo, print products for sale, web design and print collateral.

We are likely to be able to spend up to $100USD, perhaps slightly more depending on artist experience and examples.

Please submit examples of your work that demonstrate your style and experience with similar projects in your proposal. Please also outline your estimated time for completion, availability and proposed cost.
