80,000 word book about the Healthcare Industry. Content in rough chapter/section format already transcribed, and will be provided. Topics intertwined with the larger theme of healthcare include: business, operations, history, government, economics, politics, policy, and technology. Background knowledge and/or experience in these arenas is a prerequisite for this project.
The material for this book is complex, specialized, and strongly libertarian.
Getting the voice right is critical for this project, and for that this is the book I would like to emulate: Naked Economics by Charles Wheelan. The voice I'm looking for is: logical, unbiased, and factual... yet engaging, interesting, and even entertaining. Naked Economics is written in such a manner -- i.e. a presentation of the facts and logic in such a compelling, reasoned, and well thought-out manner so as to be irrefutable. This is the voice I seek for this project.
Included files:
1. Introduction - Close to it's final form, likely around 80% of the way there. I wrote this myself (and revised it many, many times). It comes close to achieving the voice I want.
2. Incentives, Government - Sample concepts. As you can see, they are voice transcriptions and written in a colloquial manner.
Sample work requirement:
All interested individuals must rewrite the concepts in #2 above as a sample of their ability prior to being considered for this project.
The timeline for this project is asap, ideally <60 days from start to finish, but can go longer as needed. Quality trumps urgency. I am happy to remain involved and offer feedback/critique the entire time, indeed I think this will be required to prevent the writer from going far down a wrong path. Please be aware, this is a big and challenging project, and will likely require a writer's full-time commitment for a while.
