We are a small litigation law firm seeking somebody interested in a career as a legal administrative assistant and/or paralegal. The initial role will be to assist the firm's attorneys by managing multiple calendars, answering phones, and engaging in a wide variety of additional office tasks; as needed. Over time, the role, and the pay, will increase to include more law-related work such as preparing court and legal forms.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and have an ability to maintain high quality work at times when they are without heavy supervision. The candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and will serve as the first point of contact for the firm.
The MOST important part of the job is managing the calendars of the two partners and a firm calendar that consists of about two dozen cases at any time. Candidate must be highly organized and willing to learn how to calculate court and other important deadlines.
We're a small family office where everybody generally gets along. The work we do is serious and can get tense, but can also be very rewarding when the results help our often-disadvantaged and elderly clients and their families. The right candidate will become an integral part of practically all aspects of the office.
