I need an offline-only desktop app that can read digital numbers appearing on video frames and give me the results in a copy-friendly form. The source can be any pre-recorded file. During processing, the app must recognise only the digital-style numerals shown on screen—no need for printed or handwritten OCR. Once it finishes a pass it should let me press a single button and have a clean pop-up window show every number it detected, laid out so I can simply Ctrl-C the whole block or select individual values. Sometimes recognition will be off. I want the UI to let me step through frames, click on a mistaken digit, type the correct one, and have the system remember that feedback so accuracy improves the next time I analyse a similar video. All of this learning must also remain local; the app can’t send data to any cloud service. Use whatever libraries suit the job best—OpenCV, Tesseract, or a lightweight custom CNN—as long as everything runs offline on Windows 10 and newer. I’ll consider cross-platform options a plus, but Windows is the priority. Provide an installer, the full source, and brief instructions so I can rebuild the model if needed.

Hi, this is a constrained computer-vision desktop tool, not generic OCR, and that distinction matters because digital overlays behave more like a repeatable detection pipeline than document text extraction. The real engineering risk is not frame reading itself; it is maintaining high precision across changing video conditions while keeping the correction loop simple enough that local feedback actually improves future runs instead of introducing drift. I've built production AI systems around Python, OCR-style ingestion, and UI-driven workflows where the output has to be usable by non-technical operators. For this kind of app, I usually structure the system as separate video sampling, digit-region detection, numeral classification, and review/correction layers so each part can be tuned independently. The closest prior work here is AI-Driven Marketing Suite Development -- 2 for video-oriented ML workflow design, plus Custom Feature Development & Integration for shipping maintainable UI and core-feature enhancements with documentation and handoff discipline. For your case, I would keep everything local, persist correction history in a lightweight local store, and use confidence thresholds so uncertain reads are easy to review frame-by-frame before they contaminate future learning. That gives you a practical offline improvement loop rather than a black-box model. Thanks, Hercules

Good to see this project, I will build a Windows desktop app — video frame extraction, digital numeral recognition, one-click copy popup, and a local correction feedback loop that retrains the model on your edits. For recognition, a lightweight custom CNN tuned to seven-segment style digits will outperform generic Tesseract here and keep inference fast offline. Questions: 1) What resolution and frame rate are the source videos typically? 2) Do digits appear in a fixed region of the frame or vary in position? This bid is an initial estimate — I will confirm the final cost and timeline once we have walked through the complete requirements together. Ready to start whenever you are. Kamran

Hello, I understand that you need an offline desktop app for Windows 10 and newer, reading digital-style numerals from pre-recorded video frames, presenting them in a clean pop-up that allows copying the block or individual values, with a per-frame correction flow where you click on a wrong digit, type the correct one, and the system remembers locally to improve accuracy on similar videos, all without sending data to the cloud. In my opinion, the heart of this project sits in matching the recognition approach to the screen-digit nature of the input. When the pipeline uses OpenCV for frame extraction and digit region isolation, paired with a small CNN trained specifically on seven-segment and similar digital fonts rather than generic Tesseract, accuracy reaches a much higher level than a general OCR engine delivers. When Tesseract is forced onto digital numerals, it usually shows up as misread eights as zeros or fives as sixes, which is the failure mode worth designing out from the start. For the learning loop, your corrections would feed a local cache of labeled crops on disk, and a small fine-tuning routine you can trigger from the UI would update the local model without ever leaving the machine. My plan would start with a small sample of your videos to size the digit fonts, build the OpenCV plus CNN pipeline, design the review and correction UI, wire the local fine-tuning loop and deliver a Windows installer with full source and rebuild instructions. Thank you. Mickey

Hi, I can help with an offline Windows desktop app that reads on-screen digital numerals from video frames and shows a copy-friendly popup of every detected value. I’ll start by prototyping the offline recognition pipeline (video decode → numeral-only detection/recognition → results aggregation) in Python with a chosen library approach (OpenCV + OCR or lightweight model). To reduce risk, I’ll add a local evaluation harness and make the popup output easy to review and rerun quickly. Which exact numeral style do you mean (7-segment, segmented LCD, or similar)? Do you want the popup as one continuous list or grouped per frame? I can start with a short spec and deliver an installer plus full source.
