I run a small company that trades salt in and out of New Zealand and, to meet the Companies Act and import–export rules, I must have a locally resident director with a valid New Zealand passport. The role is strictly “on-paper” and centres on keeping the firm compliant; you will not be asked to handle day-to-day operations or business development. What I need from you • Consent to be named as a director with the Companies Office • Occasional signature on compliance or customs forms, lodged electronically • Proof of New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency (passport copy) That is the full scope—no board meetings, strategic input or financial liability beyond normal statutory duties.
