Hello, Adam from New Jersey here. Thank you for the clear brief. I am a senior CNC programmer working in Mastercam on 5-axis horizontal machining centers, and steel is the material I run most, so this is squarely the kind of work I do. With steel on a horizontal, the program is only half the job, the cutting strategy is the rest. I program feeds, speeds and stepdowns to the material and the tooling rather than to defaults, use consistent climb milling and smooth lead-ins to protect tool life and finish, and order operations so chips clear properly on a horizontal spindle rather than recutting. On 5-axis I verify every toolpath for collisions and gouges before it reaches the machine. How I would proceed: 1. Review your part drawings, material, fixturing and the machine's post processor. 2. Program the toolpaths in Mastercam, roughing through finishing, with a tooling and workholding plan. 3. Full simulation and collision check, then post to your controller's format. 4. Provide a setup sheet: tools, offsets, speeds, feeds and workholding, so setup is clean at the machine. 5. Adjust after the first proof cut if anything needs fine-tuning. My rate is $50 per hour, and I am available now. Thanks, Adam.

Hello!⚡ Thank you for the clear requirements. Five-axis work on a horizontal in steel is satisfying programming, and I am ready to start now. I recently programmed 5-axis parts in Mastercam for a horizontal machining centre, including fixturing and full machine simulation. How I would proceed: 1. Start from your machine: control, kinematics, table size and tool library, so the post matches your machine rather than a generic one. A verified post is the difference between a program that runs and a crash. 2. Plan the tombstone fixturing so one face is loaded while another is cutting, with work offsets set per face. 3. Rough steel with dynamic toolpaths at constant engagement, keeping the tool in cut. Horizontals clear chips well, which lets us push harder than a vertical allows. 4. Use tool centre point control for rotary moves, so the control handles compensation rather than the code. 5. Verify with full machine simulation against the real kinematics, checking fixture, table and spindle clearance before anything runs. 6. Deliver NC code, setup sheets, a tool list with stickouts and a first article plan. $30 per hour, available now. Thanks. Hassan
