We are a hotel using a specific electronic door lock. We need to integrate these locks with our Property Management System (PMS) to automate keycard management. The lock company cannot provide an API or documentation, so we need to determine the communication protocol and build a custom interface. Scope of Work: Analyze the communication protocol between the lock system and its hardware. Develop a software middleware/API to connect our PMS to the lock system. The interface must handle core functions: creating new keycards for check-in, extending access, and revoking access at check-out. Provide clear documentation on the protocol and the solution. Test the integration to ensure it is reliable. Dumps of Master Card, Guest Cards, Configuration Cards and Add Locks Card will be provided. They are classic Mifare cards.

Hi there, I’ve reviewed the goal to integrate your hotel PMS with the door lock system despite the lack of official API documentation. My approach is to first analyze the lock’s communication behavior from the provided Mifare card dumps and hardware signals, then implement a lightweight middleware (C/C++) that speaks a simple, PMS-friendly interface. The middleware will handle creating new keycards at check-in, extending access, and revoking at checkout, with clear logging and robust restart behavior. I’ll provide concise protocol docs, data formats, and a straightforward deployment guide so your team can maintain it. What PMS platform are you using, and are there any on-premise vs. cloud constraints or security policies I should align with? Best regards, Marko Aleksic

✅Okay, I got what you want exactly. I am a firmware and embedded systems engineer with over 10 years of experience, providing RFID protocol analysis, MIFARE Classic card handling, low-level C/C++ development, and custom middleware/API integration. In my opinion, the right approach here is to reverse-engineer the card memory structure and reader communication flow, then abstract it into a clean middleware layer your PMS can reliably talk to. This avoids lock vendor dependency and gives you full control over key lifecycle automation. This project is very similar to my previous works. I’ve previously decoded proprietary MIFARE Classic–based access systems by analyzing sector keys, access bits, and value blocks, then built a bridge service that handled card issuance, extension, and revocation across 200+ rooms. I also implemented test tools to validate card state transitions and prevent desynchronization issues during checkout. ✅ So, I will divide your project like following: ⚡ Protocol and card memory analysis using provided dumps ⚡ Definition of keycard logic (check-in, extend, revoke) and security rules ⚡ Development of a lightweight middleware/API for PMS integration ⚡ End-to-end testing with real cards and lock hardware ⚡ Clear technical documentation for future maintenance Via private chatting or meeting, I will provide the creative idea and good tech solution for your project and I want to discuss about the budget and timeline in detail. Best regards. Yaroslav

Hi there, I am a strong fit because I have integrated proprietary hotel hardware where no official API or documentation existed. I have experience reverse-engineering MIFARE Classic card structures and building middleware that bridges PMS systems with electronic lock controllers. I work with low-level protocol analysis, card dumps, secure key management, and API services that expose clean check-in, extend, and revoke flows. I reduce risk by isolating the reverse-engineered protocol in a dedicated service, documenting every command, and validating flows against real lock hardware. I am available to start immediately and can proceed once the card dumps and PMS details are shared. Regards Chirag

Hi there, I’ve reviewed the scope for integrating the hotel door locks with your PMS. Given no API docs, I’d start by studying the lock’s hardware handshake with a test rig, then implement a lean C/C++ middleware that abstracts the card commands (issue, extend, revoke) and exposes a simple REST/IPC API for your PMS. I’d target a small, well-documented module compatible with your existing stack, using Arduino-friendly components for the hardware layer and robust logging for QA. Documentation would cover the protocol, data formats, and deployment steps, with test cases that cover common guest flows. 'What is your preferred PMS (vendor) and any constraints on hosting the middleware (on-prem vs. cloud) to plan the deployment approach?' Best regards, Jeric Gonzales

Taking cognizance of your specific need, the focus here is to create a seamless interface between your Property Management System (PMS) and the electronic door lock system in use at your hotel. The intention is to automate the entire process of keycard management thus ensuring smooth operation, reducing margin for error, and enhancing guest experience. Tackling the issue of the lock company's inability to provide API documentation, my approach will entail the analysis of the communication protocol between the lock system and its associated hardware. Using the dumps of Master Card, Guest Cards, Configuration Cards and Add Locks Card that you are set to provide, I intend to meticulously uncover the complexities of the communication protocol. The objective is to determine the best way to create a custom interface that can effectively bridge the gap between the two systems. Post the analysis, I plan on developing a software middleware or API that will act as a conduit between your PMS and the door lock system. This integration will be engineered to handle cardinal functions such as creating new keycards at check-in, extending access, and revoking access at check-out. Leveraging my proficiency in embedded firmware for STM32 and PIC microcontrollers, alongside experience with system-level communication such as Modbus, CANopen, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP, I am confident of achieving seamless interoperability between these systems. Beyond just creating the interface, I am committed to providing clear and concise documentation on the communication protocol and the solution. This will allow for easy reference, troubleshooting, and future improvements. The final stage of this project will involve rigorous testing of the integration to affirm its reliability. With a track record of designing systems that emphasize safety, modularity, and performance optimization, I will ensure the solution stands the test of time and seamlessly meets your hotel's operational needs.
