I have hundreds of desktop shortcuts scattered across multiple network locations. I need a program that will do 2 things:
1. Search a particular network path and Identify then export a text log listing the location of the shortcuts. Basically something I can point at a particular drectory (L:\ Drive, or mabye \datserver\share1 drive), and have it spit out a text file that will list the shortcuts like L:\data01\shortcut1, or \dataserver\share1\shortcut1
2. I will then need the program to update each shortcut according to a table I have of new target locations. So, maybe, the shortcut currently points to L:\data01\file1, I need it to be updated to point to L:\data02\file3
I have an Excel table of the current location, and the new location. I need the script/program to look for any old location, and update the shortcuts with new locations.
I don't really care what language this script/program is made in as long as it does what I need, and I can use it. Thanks, and please feel free to ask any questions.

You mean you need to search any shortcuts on determined network path, and make a list of them? And then you need to change the target location based on source on the xls file?
A program to read all shortcuts on a selected folder and replace its target paths to those especified in the excel file. The program would be simple exe and can be run from a pendrive too.
