I need some assistance completing a small application written in Win32 API and Extended MAPI. I have already written a large part of the project, but I need someone to step in a help me finish it. Most of the hard work is already done, but there are some sticky requirements I need help fleshing out.
the program is downloaded and runs on a client machine where MS Outlook is installed. The purpose of the program is to convert someone who has been using Outlook with a POP3 account and .pst file(s) to use our MS Exchange server. The program automatically configures a new Outlook profile, connects it to our Exchange server, sets the new profile as the default, and uploads the persons mail, contacts, and calendar events to the Exchange server. It then configures the Outlook client to run in cached Outlook mode with an .ost file -- mail will only be saved in the cache file from now on, and on the central exchange server. The purpose is to allow the user to ultimately manage all their mail, contacts, and calendar events from the central server instead of multiple .pst files on multiple computers.
All of the code for the above part has been written in an alpha version. What we need done, is to take our code and enhance it in certain ways to account for duplicate messages and contacts and deal with them correctly. For a likely scenario, our user would run the program on his office computer, configuring Outlook to talk to our Exchange server and uploading all the mail and contacts and events. Then the same user might run the configurator on their home computer, doing the same thing -- configuring that computer's outlook to talk to the same account on the Exchange server and uploading the mail and contacts and events. The problem comes in when the user configures their second computer and encounters duplicate contacts and mail which were already uploaded from the first computer. I need help writing the code to a) determine if a message or contact being copied is being duplicated, and b) dealing with the duplicate in the way the user wants: either overwriting the previous copy or creating the duplicate.
I also need this program beta tested and conformed to any windows version a user may have on their computer (within reason). The person who takes on this job must be demonstrably close to expert in Extended MAPI APIs.
I need this project to be completed by April 15 2005.
