We constantly use the ‘Browse’ feature on MySpace to search for local women in our area. If we’ve never messaged them before, we send them a copy of a saved message (looks original to them) and says something like “hey, how is it going..”
If they reply, we send them a copy of another saved message. Example: They say, “it’s going good, how about you?” We then respond with “great, you seem kind of interesting, what do you like to do?.”
The problem is we browse just about everyday and don’t remember if we’ve already spoken to a particular person already. If we have, then they accidentally get the same first message twice…
We are looking for a custom-built Windows application that will:
Be called: SpacePimpin’ 1.1
Use install shield to install the application to the users system and create a desktop icon, start-menu shortcut, and prompt to open a readme file (notepad text). The readme file will be separate and will be titled ‘Readme.txt.’
Once installed, the SpacePimpin’ application will feature an internet explorer interface so the user can log into MySpace. Or, if you can make a application that works with IE, that is fine also.
They can then hit the browse feature, set the require MySpace preferences (age, location, etc, in myspace) and get a page of results. Once a user clicks on another members profile and decided that they want to send the member a message, they will click the ‘send message’ within myspace and then be taken to a message dialog box.
SpacePimpin’ will have a message toolbar with preset messages. User can custom change these messages through an option menu toolbar. They can click one of three butons: 1 – Initial, 2 –Response, 3 – Custom (where they can custom label the toolbar, along with the message in options menu.
After the message is sent, it will log the myspace members friend ID into a ‘sent’ log file ([url removed, login to view]). So in the future, if the user does not recall messaging a particular member, they can click a menu button called ‘Lookup’ and it will return one of the following popup messages.
1 – Member has already been sent initial message. ([url removed, login to view])
2 – Member has already been sent response message. ([url removed, login to view])
3 – No message record on file.
That way they won’t send duplicate messages to the same person.
Menu buttons are as follows:
Lookup (will search [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] and return the appropriate message)
This programs functions are pretty easy and should not take too much time. Also, it should look professional in case we want to incorporate this within a suite package.
We will pay half of the accepted bid for the prototype and the remaining for the final product. Also, we have another web project called “Soldier Select – Dating Website.” Based on quality of work, we will consider the winning developer for this project.
