You said formulas, VBA or Power Query, whichever I prefer, so here is the honest reasoning rather than just a preference. For weekly reporting off a recurring data stream, Power Query is almost always the right answer and VBA is almost always the one that hurts later. VBA means the file has to be .xlsm, and plenty of organisations block macros by default or strip them from email attachments, so the report that works on your machine silently does nothing on a colleague's. Power Query needs none of that, it is refresh-on-open, and the steps stay readable so someone other than me can adjust them. The one case for VBA is if you need the workbook to email itself or write files out. If that is in scope, tell me and I will use it deliberately for that piece only, rather than building the whole thing on it. The other thing that decides whether weekly reporting survives is where the raw tables land. If they arrive in a folder with consistent naming, the refresh can pick up new files automatically instead of someone repointing the query each week.
