Namaste, I'm from Chandigarh — so in-person handover is easy if you'd prefer that to remote access. 18+ years closing books in Tally at CA firms here, currently Senior Accounts Manager for 75+ clients. CA Inter (ICAI). A quick note: Tally carries the P&L balance to the Balance Sheet on its own, so what actually needs posting at year-end is the substantive stuff — depreciation, outstandings and prepaid, provisions, bad debts, and the transfer to Capital or Reserves. If the TB still doesn't tally after that, it's usually a suspense entry or a GST/TDS ledger that was never reconciled to the returns. My approach: restore your backup to a separate company so live data stays untouched → list every proposed entry for your approval before posting → verify each affected ledger individually → deliver the updated backup and PDF trial balance with a short note on each entry. Since this feeds your filings, I'll also cross-check GST and TDS balances against what's actually been filed. Included. Two questions: proprietorship, partnership or private limited?
