I have a floor plan for a medium sized new airport (ground floor and apron plans) supplied as high-resolution pdf files. From these images I need a precise architectural take-off that lists and tallies every furniture item shown. Your task is to: • Identify each distinct piece of furniture on the drawing (desks, chairs, conference tables, storage units, counters, etc.). • Count occurrences per type and cross-reference them to the room or zone where they appear. • Deliver the results in an editable Excel or Google Sheet that includes an item description, symbol/legend reference (if available), location tag, and total quantity column. Accuracy is critical; I will spot-check counts against the original plan. Please work directly from the provided image files—no CAD source is available—so experience reading scaled drawings is essential. Please DO NOT use AI as this is being used as a cross-check for our internal counts. When you reply, let me know how you normally organise your schedule for similar take-offs and which software (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or your preferred tool) you will use for measuring and verification.

Would you prefer the furniture schedule grouped primarily by room/zone, with each furniture type separately tallied, so it can be checked quickly against the drawings? I’m an architect experienced in reading architectural floor plans and producing accurate drawing-based schedules. For this take-off, I would work directly from the supplied high-resolution PDFs, identify each furniture symbol, cross-reference it with its room or zone, and maintain a clear item/description/location/quantity structure in Excel. For verification, I would use Bluebeam or a comparable PDF measurement/take-off workflow, working systematically through each plan and cross-checking the final counts against the original drawings. I can organize the work into focused sessions by plan/zone and provide a clean, editable spreadsheet for your internal checking. Thanks, Anthony

Hi, I’m experienced in reading architectural PDF plans and carrying out detailed furniture take-offs directly from drawings. I can manually review the high-resolution plans, identify each furniture type, count every occurrence, and cross-reference each item with its room or zone without relying on AI-based counting. I’ll organize the take-off in a clear Excel workbook with item description, symbol/legend reference, location, and total quantity, making it easy for your team to audit and spot-check. For measurement and verification, I can use Bluebeam Revu together with Excel, working systematically floor-by-floor and zone-by-zone to avoid missed or duplicated items. I normally schedule similar take-offs by completing one area first, checking the methodology, then progressing through the remaining plans with a final independent count review.

Hi I’ve handled drawing-based take-offs where the important part is getting each symbol counted correctly and tied back to its actual room or zone, not just producing a total. I reviewed the supplied Ground Floor and Apron plans. They’re detailed 1:250 A0 drawings with furniture distributed across areas such as check-in, café/seating areas, lounges and gate-waiting zones, so I’d work systematically through each plan rather than estimating from the overall layout. I’ll use Bluebeam Revu for the PDF review and count/mark-up process, then build the editable Excel/Google Sheet with item description, symbol/legend reference, location tag and total quantity. I’ll do a separate verification pass against both drawings to catch missed or duplicated symbols before delivery. For repeated furniture across both plans, should the final sheet use one consolidated total per item type with Ground/Apron location tags, or separate subtotals for each plan? Thanks, Belal

Hi, Reading scaled PDF drawings without CAD introduces two predictable risks: symbol ambiguity and scale drift between sheets. I will verify scale from known dimensions, confirm legend symbols with you, and flag every ambiguous item before final tally so spot-checks match exactly. I have performed multiple furniture take-offs from high-resolution PDF floor plans for commercial and institutional buildings, working directly from images and printed scales. For those projects I delivered editable Excel sheets with item description, symbol reference, room/location tag, and total quantity, and provided annotated PDF overlays for verification. I am comfortable with airport layouts and common furniture types: desks, chairs, conference tables, storage, counters, check-in units, and apron-adjacent equipment. My first step is to establish sheet scale and create a living symbol legend in the spreadsheet. I will then mark every instance on a copy of the PDF, tally by type and room/zone, and produce an itemized Excel or Google Sheet with columns: item description, symbol/legend reference, location tag, and total quantity. I will supply an annotated PDF layer showing counted items for your spot-checks. I normally schedule similar take-offs in focused blocks: initial review and scale setup (1 session), counting by zone (2-4 sessions depending on plan size), and verification/QA (1 session). I use Bluebeam for PDF markup and PlanSwift for on-screen counting and cross-checks, exporting results to Excel or Google Sheets for delivery. - Are there any legend sheets or symbol keys included with the PDFs that I should use first? - Do you prefer the deliverable as Excel or a shared Google Sheet for live edits? Let me know if a short call would help move things forward. Matthew Reese

Hello, I can assist with the furniture take-off and provide an organized, editable Excel/Google Sheet based on the supplied high-resolution PDF plans. My approach would be to review the ground floor and apron plans systematically, working zone-by-zone/room-by-room so that every furniture item is identified, counted and cross-checked against its location. The final sheet can include: • Item description • Symbol/legend reference where available • Room/zone/location • Quantity per location • Overall total quantity For accuracy, I would maintain a structured count while reviewing the drawings and perform a second verification pass against the original PDF before delivery. For similar take-offs, I prefer to schedule the work in focused blocks rather than switching between multiple projects, allowing me to maintain consistent counting and verification throughout the plan. I can work directly from the provided PDF/image files without requiring CAD source files. Software: I can use PDF measurement/annotation tools and Excel/Google Sheets for the take-off and verification process. I understand this is being used as an independent cross-check, so I will follow your requirement and perform the counts manually rather than relying on AI-based counting. I’m available to start immediately. Regards, TechAvinya
