Finalize Logistics App Backend

The web app for our logistics operation is nearly there—UI, front-end, and several core services are already in place. What’s still missing is the glue that turns the pieces into a secure, deployment-ready product. Your main focus will be the user-authentication layer. The current codebase has placeholder stubs; I need you to build it out fully, wire it into our existing API endpoints, and enforce role-based access for the two active roles: Admin and Standard user. Alongside authentication, the database must cleanly capture and query two user-level attributes we track: contact information and activity logs. For clarity, here’s what I consider a successful hand-off: • Robust auth system (token or session, whichever best fits the stack) integrated with the existing front end • Role checks (Admin / Standard user) protecting every relevant route and UI element • Schema / migrations covering contact info + activity logs, with efficient queries and indexes • End-to-end tests proving a user can register, log in, and trigger role-gated actions without regression • Deployment-ready project: environment variables documented, build scripts updated, and a single command (or CI step) to spin up staging I’ll provide the repository, current schema, and a walkthrough of what’s already working.
